GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Warby Parker is preparing to open up a one-stop eyewear shop in Breton Village for West Michigan residents to access all their vision care needs.

The new store at 1964 Breton Rd. SE opens Saturday, Aug. 19, offering eye exams, full sun and optical eyewear, Warby Parker’s Scout contact lenses and third-party contacts.

As a fun take-home gift, branded “Nice to See You” totes will also be included with every opening-day purchase while supplies last.

Casey Boggion, new store opening leader at Warby Parker, told MLive/The Grand Rapids Press the decision to bring the brand to the West Michigan region was something that wasn’t explored yet.

“It’s just a good market that we haven’t explored yet,” Boggion said. “I think bringing a store here is going to be hugely beneficial. It allows us to broaden our customer base and essentially bring the ‘Warby Way’ to customers.”

Just in time for the grand opening and the nearing 2023-24 school year, Warby Parker is also extending its “Jr. Jr” lineup of kids’ glasses (ages 4-8) starting at $95. With the new collection, children of every age can feel comfortable with an array of different shapes and colors to choose from, the news release stated.

The brand also offers comprehensive eye exams in-store for patients 4 and older, where parents can add blue-light-filtering or light-responsive lenses to any pair of glasses, with or without a prescription. Eye appointments include the following:

To further support vision care for all, for every pair of glasses purchased, a pair is distributed to a person in need through the Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program.

For the Breton Village location, Warby Parker also teamed up with Detroit-based artist Jesse Kassel to create a custom mural for the store featuring some of Grand Rapids’ most iconic landmarks and water infrastructure.

“The artwork features some of Grand Rapids’ most iconic landmarks tied in with its rich history as a furniture manufacturing hub and now as an arts destination,” Kassel said in a statement.

Warby Parker has four other store locations scattered across metro Detroit and Ann Arbor. Learn more about the Breton Village location here.
